UP Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath inaugurates Noida-Greater Noida Aqua Line Metro

Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath inaugurated the Noida Metro Aqua Line from Noida sector 137 on Friday. He was accompanied by Union Minister Hardeep Singh Puri. He will now travel to the Depot station in Greater Noida. The 29.7-km Aqua Line has 21 stations. Additionally, this is one of the first Metro lines to become active in the Greater Noida region. The Noida Metro Rail Corporation (NMRC) had inked a memorandum of understanding (MoU) with the Delhi Metro Rail Corporation (DMRC), which will assist the NMRC in operating the Aqua Line corridor in the first year. Additionally, this is one of the first Metro lines to become active in the Greater Noida region.

The trains are designed to run at a maximum speed of 80 km per hour with an average speed of 37.5 km per hour. Every train is equipped with a passenger information system, a public address system, and an emergency announcement system from the operation control centre. Besides, all the stations are equipped with platform screen doors.

Seat reservation through different colours has been done in the coaches for ladies, senior citizens and differently abled persons. There is a dedicated space for a wheelchair in driving trailer cars at both the ends of the trains. Trains are equipped with a passenger information system, a public address system, and an emergency announcement system from the operation control centre. All the stations are equipped with platform screen doors. The Aqua line is not lined with Delhi Metro, which many believe will make the seamless connectivity difficult. The passengers will have to get new tokens or use another card for boarding the Delhi Metro.
