Odisha: 3 killed, 10 injured as jeep overturns in Kandhamal

At least three people were killed and ten others injured after a jeep carrying them overturned on a ‘Ghat’ at Kandhamal district in Odisha on Tuesday.

The jeep was overloaded when it lost balance at a sharp turn at Deplanga ghat near Sirtiguda in K Nuagam area, T Chowdhury, Officer In-Charge of K Nuagam police station said.

Three people including the driver were killed on the spot while the injured ones were admitted to Balliguda Sub Divisional hospital, police said.

Though the cause of the incident was yet to be ascertained, the jeep was suspected to have lost balance and turned turtle following damage caused to its axle, police added.
