New Delhi:

Pakistan on Saturday warned India that it will hit back with 10 more surgical strikes if India dares to launch a strike across the border, in the latest war of words between the two estranged nuclear-armed neighbours.

“If India dares to launch a surgical strike inside Pakistan, it will face 10 surgical strikes in response,” Radio Pakistan quoted Pakistani Director General Inter Services Public Relations Major General Asif Ghafoor as saying.

Ghafoor was interacting with the Pakistani abroad media in London. Pakistan Army Chief Gen Qamar Javed Bajwa also accompanied Ghafoor on his visit.

Ghafoor also said “those who think of any misadventure against us should have no doubt in their minds on Pakistan’s capabilities”.

The Pakistan military spokesman claimed that the July general election is the most transparent in the history of the country and rubbished the allegations of rigging using the armed forces.

“If anyone has evidence of rigging then it should be brought forward,” Ghafoor remarked.

Ghafoor also rejected reports of restriction on the media and said there was “complete freedom of expression” in the country.

Slamming the international media on spreading negativity image of the country, Ghafoor said there were more good developments in Pakistan than bad and that the international media should also highlight the good things.

Meanwhile, the military spokesman said the Pakistan Army was the custodian of the $50 billion China Pakistan Economic Corridor (CPEC) and that the mega project will strengthen the economy of the country.
