New Delhi:

Prime Minister Narendra Modi, who on Friday attended the 13th G-20 Summit in Argentina's capital of Buenos Aires, met Chinese President Xi Jinping to formulate strategies to strengthen the bilateral ties between both the countries.  Modi told Xi that he was looking forward to hos him for an informal summit in 2019.

This was Modi’s third meeting with Jinping in recent times following their informal summit in the Chinese city of Wuhan in April. The two leaders have met at the Shanghai Cooperation Organisation (SCO) summit held in June in China’s Qingdao and the second time at the BRICS summit in South Africa's Johannesburg in July.

"Today's meeting will be important in providing a direction in terms of strengthening our relations," Modi said.

Soon after the meeting, the PMO India tweeted that the two leaders held productive discussions, which include ways to strengthen relations and maintaining the momentum between India and China.
