President Ram Nath Kovind on Friday addressed the nation from the Rashtrapati Bhavan on the eve of the 70th Republic Day of India. The programme is broadcast from 7:00 pm on the entire national network of All India Radio and all channels of Doordarshan in Hindi followed by the English version. Besides, the address will be also streamed in regional languages by topical channels of Doordarshan, according to a statement released by the Rashtrapati Bhavan. The AIR will broadcast regional language versions from 9:30 pm onwards on its respective regional networks, the statement added.

Meanwhile, a day ahead of the Republic Day, Kovind has awarded Bharat Ratna, the country's highest civilian award, to former president Pranab Mukherjee, Bharatiya Jana Sangh leader late Nanaji Deshmukh and singer Bhpen Hazarika. Mukherjee served as the President of India between 2012 and 2017.
