“Apart from what we normally do, which is going live on TV and livestreaming on Youtube and so on, we will also have the livestream available on the Google search homepage,” Prasar Bharati CEO Shashi Shekhar Vempati told PTI.

Here’s how you can watch PM Modi address the nation LIVE from wherever you are

  1. For the first time in independent India, Doordarshan anchors will present the Independence Day celebrations on August 15 from the ramparts of Red Fort.
  2. Doordarshan will kickstart the celebration with a patriotic song by singer composer Shankar Mahadevan.
  3. The livestream will appear on the top in Google Homepage.
  4. This facility was also used to telecast the inauguration ceremony of US President Donald Trump.

“Livestreaming has now been going on for a few years. Last year it was a million plus views, Republic Day was 3-4 million views. That is the general trend. This will take it to the next level altogether,” Vempati said.
