New Delhi:

A video has become viral on social media showing several protesters shouted slogans in favour of independent (Azaadi) Kashmir during violent clash on Wednesday at Ramjas College.

The video is being circulated on social media where students were seen shouting slogans “Freedom for students” and “freedom for Kashmir.”

On Thursday morning, the AISA students staged protest against Delhi Police and ABVP outside police headquarters.

Joint commissioner of Police Deependra Pathak said that situation at Ramjas college is being monitored. He said the police would request students to remain peaceful during protest.

“Situation is being monitored and in future protest, we request students to remain peaceful,” said Deependra Pathak (Joint CP) while talking to media.

Pathak admitted that a few policemen did not act professionally and a probe is underway. He said strict action would be taken against guilty.

“In North Campus, a few policemen's unprofessional actions have been noticed, and an enquiry is on. Strict actions will be taken, “Pathak added.

Delhi Police has registered a case of rioting and assaulting police officers on duty against unknown persons in connection with the clashes between RSS-backed ABVP and Left-affiliated AISA today at DU's Ramjas College.

The genesis of the clash was an invite to JNU studentsUmar Khalid, facing sedition charges, and Shehla Rashid to address a seminar on 'Culture of Protests' which was withdrawn by the college authorities yesterday following opposition by the ABVP. Rashid, a former JNU students union member, was instrumental in the movement against the students' arrest.
