College students wearing jeans and t-shirts will no longer be able to don casual dresses in their colleges. The Rajasthan government has decided to introduce uniform for college going students in the state.

Rajasthan Education Minister Kiran Maheshwari stated that it was the demand of students that there should be a dress code in colleges.

The Rajasthan education minister further added that they have not issued any order on the colour of the uniform that the colleges will allow. “In the end, students have to decide.”

Congress party Govind Dev Singh Dotasar, criticized the state government over the new directive alleging that Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh (RSS) is controlling the orders that are given by Vasundhara Raje government.

Whereas the college authorities claims that this decision was taken keeping the security of students in mind.
