BK Hariprasad has been nominated by the Congress for the post of Deputy Chairman in the Rajya Sabha.
Most pundits have predicted a win for the opposition, but BJD’s decision to back the JD-U suggested a surprise victory for the NDA.
However, both the Opposition and the NDA are desperate to get their candidate elected for the post of the Deputy Chairman.
The current strength of Rajya Sabha is 244 and the backing of 123 members will be needed to win clear in the House.
