New Delhi:

The Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) on Saturday strongly responded to former Jammu and Kashmir chief minister Mehbooba Mufti’s ‘Salahuddin’ threat and warned that those who will turn to terrorism will be neutralised by the security forces.

“As far as the threat over 'Salahuddin' is concerned, the Central govt & security forces have the power to neutralise all the terrorists who are in the valley & those might turn to terrorism due to Mehbooba ji,” ANI quoted BJP National General Secretary Ram Madhav as saying.

On Friday, The former BJP ally and PDP chief had said that more Salahuddin and Yasin Malik will be born if the central government tried to repeat 1987 and break the PDP.

“If Dilli (Delhi) tried to despoil people’s vote in Jammu and Kashmir like 1987 and break the PDP, then I think just like Salahuddin and Yasin Malik were born, there will be dangerous consequences of it,” Mufti had said.

When asked about Mufti’s allegations that BJP was trying to break her party, Madhav, who was the key architect of the PDP-BJP alliance in Kashmir which broke after three years, said that her claims were based on “lies”.

“What Mehbooba ji said yesterday (Friday) is unfortunate and based on lies. No one in Delhi is trying to break their party. Instead of solving their internal conflicts they're blaming Delhi and threatening in name of terrorism. As far as BJP is concerned, we aren't trying to break any party,” he said.

Mehbooba Mufti has been facing the rebellion by some of the PDP leaders since the fall of her government after BJP pulled out of its alliance with her party.

Disgruntled PDP leader Majeed Padroo on Saturday reportedly said that they were ready to form the government with the support of the BJP on the condition of Kashmiri CM.
