New Delhi:

Amid growing demands by Hindu groups for construction of Ram Mandir in Ayodhya, Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath said on Sunday a piece of good news regarding the issue is awaited devotees all over the country.

Speaking at the concluding ceremony of Gyankumbh, a two-day meet at Patanjali Yogpeeth in Haridwar on improvements of the higher education standards, said a South Korean delegation was coming to Ayodhya to celebrate Diwali on November 6 when the festival of lights would be celebrated at Lord Ram's birthplace on a grand scale.

The UP CM also appealed to everyone to light a lamp this Diwali in the name of Lord Ram.

Meanwhile, Swami Paramhans Das, mahant of Tapaswi Chawni temple in Ayodhya, has threatened self-immolation on December 6, if the construction of Ram Mandir in Ayodhya was not officially announced by then.

Paramhans, who sat on an indefinite fast on October 6 demanding a law be passed by the Modi government for construction of Ram Temple, said Prime Minister Narendra Modi and Yogi Adityanath must make the announcement by December 5.

"When the government forced me to break my fast, the chief minister promised me he would soon announce the date for construction of Ram Mandir. He also promised me a conversation with Prime Minister Narendra Modi, where I could personally make my demands but nothing has been done," said Paramhans.

"I am giving one month to the Modi government to take steps for the construction of Ram Janmabhoomi temple in Ayodhya. This time from corporator to President of India is from Bhartiya Janata Party but they are not doing anything for Ram Mandir," he said.

On Sunday, senior Congress Manu Singhvi said the BJP-RSS raise the Ramjanmabhoomi dispute ahead of every poll and then confine Lord Ram to "exile" after it is over.

He hit out at the ruling dispensation and said it had insulted god by using the issue for political gains.

"After 1992, in every elections, they (BJP and RSS) raise the issue. Once the polls get over, they again consign Lord Ram to exile," Singhvi said.
