As 2019 Lok Sabha elections are approaching the nation, it seems like the Congress has also jumped in the race to cash the issue of Ram Temple. While parties like the ruling Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) and Shiv Sena have been nourishing the politics on the issue of Hindutva and Ram Temple, the Congress has also started walking on the same path. Former Uttarakhand chief minister and senior Congress leader Harish Rawat has said that the BJP has only disrespected the dignity of Lord Rama in the name of his temple and that the Congress party will restore that.
“The people in Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) always disrespect dignity; those who destroy dignity cannot be devotees of Lord Ram. We are the ones who establish dignity, respect the constitution. When Congress comes into power only then will the Ram temple be built," Rawat told reporters in Pauri Garhwal.
Meanwhile, the Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh (RSS) has mocked the BJP for the delay in the construction of Ram Temple, saying it will now be built in 2025. Taking pot shots at the Narendra Modi government, RSS General Secretary Bhaiyaji Joshi on Thursday said the country will start developing rapidly after the construction of Ram temple in 2025.
