New Delhi:

Two unidentified men in Uttar Pradesh’s Agra allegedly mixed “rat poison” in the water tanks of a Madrassa run by the wife of former Vice President Hamid Ansari.

The Madrassa was housing around 4000 students but fortunately, no untoward incident happened.

The police have registered an FIR in the case under the section 328 (causing hurt by the means of poison) and 506 (criminal intimidation) of the Indian Penal Code.

So far, the accused have not been identified but the Police are on a lookout for them.

The Madrassa Chacha Nehru, located in the heart of Agra city is run by Al Noor Charitable Society headed by Hamid Ansari’s Salma Ansari.

According to a report published in the Times of India, a student of Madrassa spotted two men mixing some tablet-like material in the water tanks. The assailants, showing a pistol, threatened the student to keep quite when asked what they were doing.

Salma termed the incident as “shocking and scary” and decided to install CCTV cameras in a charitable institution.

“Following the incident, we have decided to install CCTV cameras in the 18-year-old charitable institution which has 4000 students on its rolls," Salma told TOI.
