New Delhi:
A day after BJP MLA Surendra Singh’s “irresponsible” remark that Hindus should have at least five children to save Hindutva, another saffron party leader sparked a controversy by saying that rapidly growing Muslim population was the reason behind increasing incidents of rape and murder.
“The menaces such as of terrorism, rape, sexual harassment prevailing in India is only because of the rising Muslim populations. If one looks closely, there has been a rapid increase in the percentage of Muslim population since the time of Independence,” ANI quoted senior BJP MP Hari Om Pandey as saying.
Pandey, a parliamentarian from Uttar Pradesh’s Ambedkar Nagar, said that if the government failed to take required measures to limit the rising Muslims population, another Pakistan would be created.

The BJP MP also suggested that Parliament must bring a law in this regard.
“I believe that a bill on population control must be introduced in the Parliament in order to save India from another dreadful partition,” he added.

Earlier on Thursday, BJP MLA from Uttar Pradesh’s Baria, Surendra Singh, had said that Hindus will soon be a minority as there was no balance in population growth.
“Children are God’s blessing… Hindu population should increase. I believe Hindu couples should have at least five children,” the Indian Express quoted Singh as saying.
