New Delhi:
Nobel Prize winner Kailash Satyarthi will attend the Vijayadashmi event of RSS at Reshmibagh Maidan in Nagpur as the chief guest on October 18, according to news agency ANI.
The Dusshera function is significant in the Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh’s yearly calendar as it was established on Vijayadashami in 1925 and the sarsanghchalak or RSS chief addresses a gathering of workers to mark the day.
Satyarthi was awarded the Nobel Prize in 2014 for his "struggle against the suppression of children and young people and for the right of all children to education".
He shared the award with Pakistan's Malala Yousafzai.
