The Samajwadi Party on Sunday expelled party leaders Mohammad Shahid, Deepak Mishra, Kallu Yadav, Rajesh Yadav, Rakesh Yadav who are reportedly close to Shivpal Yadav. All the leaders have been expelled with immediate effect.

Earlier on Friday, senior Samajwadi Party leader and Akhilesh's uncle Shivpal Yadav told a news agency that he is forming a new party 'Samajwadi Secular Morcha'.

SP party patriarch Mulayam Singh Yadav will be the party chief of Samajwadi Secular Morcha, Shivpal said.

"We will soon announce the launch of this 'morcha'. The aim of this party is to restore the honour of 'Netaji' (Mulayam) and bring back all Samajwadis under one umbrella," he added.
