In a shocking incident in Karnataka, students of Government High School of Tumkuru have complained that they were given water mixed with alcohol by their school teachers while they were on a school picnic.

On Friday, students and teachers of Government High School Tumkuru had gone to a picnic to Dharmasthala. After visiting few religious places, students started playing games and dancing. Some of the students got tired and were looking for water and saw a bottle of water with the headmaster Sachidanand. The students claim that their headmaster Sachidanand, teachers Rathod and Muzammil had consumed alcohol and gave students same water bottle in which they had mixed alcohol with water.

One of the student's while describing the incident to media said, "Our headmaster Sachidanand was fully drunk. We requested Rathore and Muzzamil sir to give us some water from their bottle. They gave us the water bottle but didn't tell us they have mixed alcohol with water. We drank the water and after some time students started feeling dizzy and few students vomited".

On coming back from the picnic, students complained to the higher authorities about the incident but Muzzamil has denied all the allegations. Muzzamil said, "This is all lie. Neither I nor the other two teachers consumed alcohol that day. This is baseless."

When the incident was reported in the media, Ravi Shankar Reddy, Deputy Director, Department of Public Instructions Karnataka immediately suspended all the three teachers and ordered an enquiry.
