The second summit between US President Donald Trump and North Korean leader Kim Jong Un is likely to take place early next year. Speaking on the condition of anonymity, a senior Trump administration on Friday told reporters that “a meeting (between Trump and Kim) was “likely sometime after the first of the year (2019).”
However, details of the meeting had not been finalised yet but speculations were rife that the second Trump-Kim summit may take place in the US, unlike their first meeting which was held at a neutral venue Singapore.
Earlier this month, Secretary of State Mike Pompeo made his fourth visit to North Korea, and he is coordinating with allies Japan and South Korea to arrange a second summit between the two leaders.

Earlier this month, Trump and Kim, foe-turned-friends, ended a long spell of stalemate over North Korea’s nuclear program and met for the first time in Singapore.
The Singapore summit had produced a vague agreement on the complete denuclearisation of North Korea. The meeting turned into a historic moment with both leaders praising each other for their efforts to ensure world peace.
