Spiritual leader Bhayyuji Maharaj, who was recently accorded with the status of a state minister, shot himself in Indore on Tuesday. Maharaj shot himself in the head and was rushed to Bombay Hospital in Indore where he succumbed to injuries, according to police.
Following the reports of his suicide, a group of investigating officer has rushed to the spot and are analysing different aspects of the case. The suicide note and the pistol have also been seized from the spot.
"We have seized the suicide note. In the suicide note, he has mentioned mental tension but the reason for the tension is not known as yet. We are investigating the case," DIGÂ Harinarayanchari Mishra was quoted by ANI.

Bhayyuji, whose original name was Uday Singh Deshmukh, was quite popular in Maharashtra and Madhya Pradesh because of his spiritual and social works. On hearing the news, hundreds of his followers gathered outside the Bombay Hospital.
His ashram is situated in Indore city and top political leaders including Maharashtra CM Devendra Fadnavis, MP CM Shivraj Singh, legendary singer Lata Mangeshkar among others were his disciples.
The 50-year-old Spiritual leader had also played the role of a mediator when India Against Corruption (IAC) movement led by Anna Hazare was at its peak.
