Reacting to the students’ protest against the alleged leak of examination paper for the combined graduate level SSC CGL tier 2 exam held on February 21, the Staff Selection Commission (SSC) Chairman Aseem Khurana on Sunday said there was no paper leak and he is ready for CBI probe.

Speaking exclusively to the News Nation, Khurana said, “We are ready for the CBI probe. There is no evidence against us. The entire protest is sponsored by coaching institutes whose scam has stopped after our decision to hold the exam online.”

“The entire agitation was created by them, students are being funded,” he added.

Talking about the screenshots of examination paper that went viral on social media, the SSC Chairman said, “Actually that is cheating and not paper leak. Some miscreants took mobile phone inside the exam centre and took the screenshot. Terming this a paper leak is baseless.”

Thousands of students are protesting against the “mass cheating” and "paper leak" outside the SSC headquarters at Lodhi Road in New Delhi.

They are demanding a CBI inquiry into the alleged paper leak of SSC CGL Tier II Exam 2018 held on February 21.

“Neither students nor teachers are allowed to carry phones and watches in the exam centres. Given such stringent security arrangements, how screenshots of the question paper went viral,” said an M.Sc. student who appeared for the exam.

Earlier in the day, anti-corruption crusader Anna Hazare joined the SSC aspirants who were holding protests outside the SSC headquarters.

Political parties have also come out in support of the agitating students with the Congress terming the SSC scam as another Vyapam and Aam Aadmi Party asking Centre to immediately order a CBI inquiry.

With SSC chairman agreeing to the students' demand for CBI probe, the ball is now in Centre's court.
