Madhya Pradesh Chief Minister Shivraj Singh Chouhan on Monday said that the Congress was “thirsty for his blood” and stooped to a new low by “pelting stones” at his vehicle during his Jan Ashriwad Yatra in the state.

“Congress is thirsty for my blood. This has never happened before in Madhya Pradesh. There may be differences in opinion but political parties would be concerned with their own work,” The MP CM said while addressing a press briefing on the issue.

The three-time Chief Minister, who is fighting anti-incumbency in the central state, asked Congress president Rahul Gandhi, his mother Sonia and party’s state president Kamal Nath whether they approved of such acts by their workers.

“I want to ask Sonia Gandhi, Rahul Gandhi and Congress state president Kamal Nath, in which direction do they wish to take the party? Is it fine what their leaders and workers are doing?” Chouhan said.

Earlier on Sunday, several people hurled slippers and stones at the luxury vehicle of Chouhan during his Jan Ashirwad Yatra in Churhat area, which falls in the assembly constituency of Leader of Opposition Ajay Singh.

The police have arrested nine people, allegedly Congress leaders, for throwing slippers and stones at Chouhan. After the attack, Chouhan had said that he won’t be “bogged down” and dared Ajay Singh to come out in open and fight with him.

“Ajay Singh, if you have strength come in open and fight with me. I am physically weak but I won’t be bogged down by your deeds. People of the state are with me,” he added.
