A day after meeting Bahujan Samaj Party (BSP) supremo Mayawati, the Rashtriya Janata Dal leader Tejashwi Yadav will meet Samajwadi Party (SP) president Akhilesh Yadav in Lucknow. According to reports, the former deputy chief minister of Bihar will meet SP chief at his residence at around 2 pm and both the leaders will have lunch together. It is being speculated that both the leaders will discuss about political equations in Bihar and Uttar Pradesh ahead of upcoming elections. Tejashwi will also congratulate Akhilesh for the pre-poll alliance with BSP.
Earlier, Tejashwi on Sunday met Mayawati at her residence and offered his support to the SP-BSP alliance. “The BJP does not stand a chance to come back into power and will be whitewashed in Uttar Pradesh and Bihar,” the RJD leader said after meeting Mayawati.
"There is an atmosphere today where they (BJP) want to scrap Baba Saheb's constitution & implement 'Nagpur laws'...They won't win even 1 seat in UP, SP-BSP alliance will win all seats," he added.

The SP and BSP have announced that they will contest on 38 seats each during the 2019 Lok Sabha Elections. The SP-BSP alliance has decided not fielded candidates in Amethi and Rae Bareli, represented by Congress president Rahul Gandhi and UPA chairperson Sonia Gandhi respectively. The Congress has not been included in the alliance, but the grand old party is hopeful that it would become part of the alliance. “The agreement between Samajwadi Party and Bahujan Samaj Party was not the final word,” senior Congress leader said.
Speaking about shutting the alliance door for the Congress, Mayawati had said that they have decided to leave the Congress out of the SP-BSP fold since there was no real gain by allying with the Grand Old Party as its vote is not transferrable.
