Telangana Assembly election results will decide the fate of 1,821 candidates today. Voting for the 119 seats in the state was held on December 7 and saw a voter turnout of 73.20 per cent. The winning candidate will be declared and certificate will be prepared after obtaining clearance from the Election Commission. With the approval of the ECI, the Chief Electoral Officer, will submit the list of winning candidates party-wise to the Governor.
Chief Electoral Officer Rajat Kumar said necessary arrangements have been made for the counting day and the strongrooms, where EVMs are kept, secured with central paramilitary forces providing "first cordon of security."
The Assembly election in Telangana was to be held in the middle of 2019, but Telangana Rashtra Samithi chief K Chandrashekar Rao's (KCR), dissolved the state assembly prematurely, pushing elections before schedule.

According to News Nation exit poll, the state could witness a hung assembly, with the TRS may win between 53 and 57 seats, while the Congress-TDP alliance is expected to get 51-55 seats. The majority mark is 61. BJP had Prime Minister Narendra Modi, party president Amit Shah and Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath as its star campaigners in Telangana.
Earlier, KCR rubbished the buzz around post-poll alliance with the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) to form the government in the state. Two days after most exit polls predicted TRS's victory, party spokesperson Bhanu Prasad said that they don’t need any alliance and will form the government on their own.
The BJP in Telangana is of the fact that there can't be a government without them in Telangana. “In case people have not given a clear mandate, we will be a part of government. We will not support Congress or All India Majlis-e-Ittehadul Muslimeen (AIMIM), but other options are open,” said BJP Telangana Chief K Laxman on Monday.
State Congress chief GN Reddy, on the other hand, dropped hint about another alliance with Owaisi's party, saying "If the TRS goes with BJP, AIMIM can sail with us if they want to."
