New Delhi/Lucknow:

New BJP Government in Uttar Pradesh may have found it difficult to decide on its chief in the state, but it is determined to fulfil its goal a definite time-frame. According to UP Chief Secretary Rahul Bhatnagar, the government officials in UP have been asked to come to office on Monday and start work towards new government's priorities or face strict action. 

BJP legislative party will decide on the name of its leader on Saturday, the new UP CM will take oath on Sunday and the new government will start working from Monday. 

In an order sent on Friday to all Secretaries, Principal Secretaries and additional chief secretaries as well as department heads in UP, Bhatnagar has said the new government is set to take over.

“The policies and the manifesto promises of the new government are to be executed in a time-bound manner. I expect that you (senior officials) will direct all your subordinates that from March 20, all government officials will be present in offices on time without fail and ensure to discharge their responsibilities. Any violation of these orders will be viewed with utmost seriousness,” the Chief Secretary has said in his orders, as quoted by a report in Economic Times. 

The report further added that the order has been specially marked to UP’s Secretary, Agriculture whose work is cut out. Among the top priorities listed out by BJP in its manifesto is to waive off all farmer loans in the first Cabinet meeting of the new state government, clearing of all sugarcane dues within two weeks as well as close down all the slaughterhouses in UP. Other manifesto promises of BJP also come with specific time-lines.
