Uttar Pradesh: Bangladeshi militants procure Indian passport from Saharanpur, police launch re-verification process

Bangladesh nationals including persons having alliance to various terrorist groups living illegally in India have managed to get hand on the country’s most trusted identity card and travel document in Uttar Pradesh.

The Uttar Pradesh Police will launch a re-verify process of the all the passport issued in Saharanpur district’s Deoband. The state and passport authorities learnt about Bangladesh nationals getting hand on the travel document after a extremist having association with Ansarullah Bangla Team was arrested recently by anti-squad team.

Saharanpur DIG KS Emmanuel talking to media said that the verification is not only for a particular community.

“The verification of passports will be carried out in Saharanpur and Muzaffarnagar district. We have received inputs that's few foreign nationals living illegally and people associated with terrorist groups have managed to procure passports,” said Emmanuel.

The Ansarullah Bangla Team had been accused of carrying out of a series of attacks on secular bloggers in Bangladesh.

Ansarullah Bangla Team extremist Abdulla, also a wanted in Bangladesh, was issued a passport on an address in Deoband district.

Anti-squad team on questioning Abdullah have learnt that several other Bangladesh nationals living illegally in the area have managed to procure the travel document in the district.

Saharanpur Senior Superintendent of Police Babloo Kumar said, “We have received few inputs regarding Bangladeshi nationals living illegally in India have managed to procure a passport. Our focus will be to identify them out to the earliest to prevent any misuse of the passport.”
