A 12-year-old girl registered rape case against her father with help of an NGO after attending a counselling session on ‘good touch and bad touch’ organised in her school in Uttar Pradesh’s Kannauj.

The victim after attending the counselling session informed her school teachers that she was allegedly raped by the father for last seven years.

Pratibha Deepak Maheshwari, who runs an NGO and helped the victim file the case said, “School principal on learning the incident counselled the girl but did not report the matter to the authorities.”

Uttar Police have registered a case of rape at Kannauj’s Bajghera police station.  A case under section 4 of the Pocso Act and IPC section 376 and 506 has been registered against the accused father.

Bajghera police station SHO said, “The complaint came to via email after which we registered case of rape and POSCO act.”

Maheshwari told the media the the girl told us that the accused father allegedly rape the girl since she was five-year-old.

She added that the victim’s mother was aware of the child abuse but was silent on the matter.  

“The girl’s elder sister is also victim of her father but she manages to avoid her father, “ added Maheswari.

The elder sister of the girl is also a victim of rape but she manages to avoid her father. The father used to rape the girl whenever she was alone in the house.
