Dehradun:
The country is witnessing severe heatwave and Uttarakhand is not excluded in the list. Normally, it is not very hot but the state on Monday recorded one of the hottest days this season with the maximum temperature hovering around 40 degrees Celsius.
Dehradun in Garhwal region recorded a maximum temperature of 39.2 degrees Celsius, while Pantnagar in Kumaon belt touched a maximum of 40 degrees Celsius, the MeT department here said this evening.
39.2 degrees Celsius for Dehradun is five degrees above normal for this time of the season, it said.
There may be some change in the weather on Tuesday as hail and thunder squall likely to hit isolated places especially Dehradun, Haridwar, Nainitaland and Pithoragarh districts, it said.
