New Delhi:
Yogi Adityanath-led government to ensure safety and security of female passengers in Uttar Pradesh will soon run all women exclusive pink bus in the state.
The pink bus service will soon hit the state roads as the central government has given nod to the proposal sent by the Uttar Pradesh State Transport Department.
According to a senior official, the state department initially plans to procure 50 busses.
The officer added, “According to our plans all major cities in the state will be provided with pink busses.”
He added the number of buses to be provided will be decided on the female population of the city.

According to senior officials, Rs 83 crore and 40 lakh has been sanctioned to run ‘Pink Bus’ service in Uttar Pradesh. The fund has been sanctioned from Nirbhaya Fund.
The official added that every pink bus will have a CCTV camera and panic buttons.
According to the transport department plans the CCTV cameras will be placed in such a manner that it will capture images of mischief makers trying to create nuisance from outside.
He added, on situation of an emergency female passengers travelling on the busses can press the panic button which will be directly connected to the police headquarters.
