BJP president Amit Shah suffering from swine flu, admitted to AIIMS

BJP president Amit Shah is suffering from swine flu and was admitted to AIIMS here on Wednesday. "I have been diagnosed with swine flu for which the treatment is underway. With God's grace and good wishes from all of you, I will recover soon," he said on Twitter in Hindi.

"Mujhe swine flue hua hai, jiska upchar chal raha hai. Ishwar ki kripa, aap sabhi ke prem aur shubhkamnao se shigarh swasth ho jayunga (I have been diagnosed with swine flu for which the treatment is underway. With God's grace and good wishes from all of you, I will recover soon)," Amit Shah tweeted. 

BJP MPs Meenakshi Lekhi and Mahesh Giri visited AIIMS to inquire about the health of the party president. 

Home Minister Rajnath Singh spoke to BJP chief on phone and wished him a speedy recovery. "Spoke to @AmitShah ji who is undergoing treatment for Swine Flu at AIIMS and inquired about his health. I pray for his speedy recovery," Singh tweeted. Meanwhile, senior BJP leader Arun Jaitley has also developed serious ailment and is likely to undergo surgery in the United States.

Jaitley had left for New York on Sunday for treatment of soft tissue cancer in his thigh, a type of a tumour which can spread to other parts of the body quickly. The finance minister had unexpectedly left for the US for a medical check-up relating to his kidney ailment, sources had said on Tuesday.

According to sources at AIIMS, the BJP leader was admitted following complaints of chest congestion and breathing issues. He reached the hospital at around 9 pm and is admitted in the old private ward of the hospital. 

A team of doctors are monitoring his condition under the supervision of AIIMS director Randeep Guleria, they said.
