A versatile artiste, Aziz was a playback singer not only in Bengali films, but also in Bollywood and Odia films. After Jyoti, he debuted in Hindi film Ambar in 1984. The song was titled Mard Taangewala, which became a big hit.

Apart from singing in films, he also held several stage shows at home and abroad, and was nominated twice for best male playback singer award.
