New Delhi :

On the 10th anniversary of 26/11 Mumbai terrorist attacks, Prime Minister Narendra Modi, Delhi Chief Minister and Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) leader Arvind Kejriwal on Monday paid tributes to the victims of the “gruesome” act of terror. Taking to micro-blogging site Twitter, PM Modi said, “Tributes to those who lost their lives in the gruesome 26/11 terror attacks in Mumbai. Our solidarity with the bereaved families. A grateful nation bows to our brave police and security forces who valiantly fought the terrorists during the Mumbai attacks.

The AAP chief also paid tributes to those who sacrificed their lives while defending the country and expressed solidarity with the families of the victims.

“Salute to the martyrs who protected our country during 26/11 Mumbai terror attacks. My sympathy for those who lost their loved ones 10 years ago on this day. May God give these families the power to bear this suffering. This country will always be indebted to those who were martyred in this attack,” Kejriwal wrote on Twitter.

On November 26, 2008, 10 members of the Pakistan-based Islamic terrorist organisation, Lashkar-e-Taiba, stormed the coastal city of Mumbai by carrying out a series of 12 coordinated shooting and bombing attacks across the city. As many as 165 people were killed and over 300 sustained serious injuries in the attacks. It took the security forces four days to neutralize the attackers. One of the terrorists, Ajmal Kasab, was captured alive and executed on November 12, 2012.
