New Delhi:

The Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) on Wednesday removed its Rajasthan in-charge, Kumar Vishwas, from his position, and replaced him with Deepak Bajpai.

The removal is seen as a strategy for the upcoming elections in the state.

Party leader Ashutosh said that Bajpai will remain in Rajasthan to take care of the party’s organisation, strategize for the Assembly elections, create a list of candidates, and work in other diameters of the Aam Aadmi Party.

“The party will fight the elections with “full strength”, even as his party alleged that the state’s ruling BJP was indulging in ‘jungle raj’ and had failed to deliver on its promises,” Ashutosh added.

Vishwas’s dismissal has created more rift between him and the party chief Arvind Kejriwal. Vishwas, on one hand, claimed ‘lack of support’ from the party leadership, while those close to the Delhi chief minister rubbished this.

Vishwas was appointed as the Rajasthan in-charge last year.
