New Delhi:
After a brief term of nine months, the Chief Justice of India Altamas Kabir will retire on Thursday. A stickler for discipline, procedure and rules, Kabir had endeared himself to members of the Bar and the Bench with his humility.
Heading a Bench, Justice Kabir directed the CBI to go ahead with the probe against Samajwadi Party leader Mulayam Singh Yadav and his son Akhilesh Yadav in a case of disproportionate assets.
P Sathasivam will be replacing him, who would be taking oath on July 19, 2013.
