New Delhi:

Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) President Amit Shah on Sunday dared Mamata Banerjee and Rahul Gandhi to find out a provision in Citizenship Amendment Act (CAA) that takes citizenship away from anyone. While addressing a rally at Madhya Pradesh’s Jabalpur Amit Shah said that the refugees (Hindu, Sikh, Buddhist, Christian) from Pakistan have the equal rights like any other Indian citizen. Shah visited Jabalpur to address a rally as a part of the Bharatiya Janata Party's (BJP) campaign to create awareness about the Citizenship Amendment Act (CAA). Amit Shah addressed the gathering at Garrison Ground in Jabalpur, Madhya Pradesh.

During the rally, Amit Shah also launched a scathing attack against the Congress party over Ram Mandir issue. “Kapil Sibal, Congress ke vakil, kehte hain Ram Mandir nahi banna chahiye, arey Sibal bhai jitna dam ho rok lo, 4 mahine mein aasman ko chhoota hua Ram mandir ka nirmaan hone wala hai (Congress lawyer Kapil Sibal says Ram Mandir should never be build. Sibal bhai, within 4 month a grand Ram Mandir, touching the skies, will be constructed)”.

Some top Madhya Pradesh BJP leaders, including state president Rakesh Singh, former Chief Minister Shivraj Singh Chauhan and Leader of Opposition Gopal Bhargava were present at the event.

Strict security arrangements was made in Jabalpur ahead of Amit Shah's visit. Security personnel were deployed from the airport to the venue. According to police officials, around 2,000 policemen were deployed and are stationed from the airport to the venue.

BJP's door-to-door campaign

Amit Shah's visit comes two days after the CAA came into effect even as the Kamal Nath-led government in Madhya Pradesh made it clear that it will not implement CAA in the state. On January 5, the BJP launched the 10-day nationwide door-to-door campaign aiming to dispel rumours about the CAA.

The rallies in different cities aim to inform people 'how the Congress and other Opposition parties are spreading lies about the CAA and inciting "rebellion and anarchy" in the country for their politics of appeasement'.
