Bahujan Samaj Party (BSP) MP Dhananjay Singh and his wife Jagriti, who were arrested on Wednesday for murdering their domestic help Rakhi Bhadra, are accused of torturing and physically abusing another maid, police said.
37-year-old Meena was traced from the residence of the MP’s brother-in-law. She was sent to his home in a bid to remove evidence.
Meena, who belongs to West Bengal, was admitted to a hospital.
"She had marks of iron press on her buttocks and injuries all over her body and head. We found her in a disoriented state. She could not sit or walk," said New Delhi's deputy commissioner of police SPS Tyagi.
Meena has been working at Jagriti's home in South Avenue since November 2012. Jagriti is a dental surgeon at RML Hospital.
Earlier on Wednesday, a Delhi Court remanded the couple to five days' police custody.
