An Apple trader from Punjab was shot dead and another injured in a terrorist attack in Jammu and Kashmir's Shopian district, where normal life remained affected for the 73rd consecutive day on Wednesday since the abrogation of Article 370 of the Constitution. According to the police, Charanjeet Singh and Sanjeev were shot at by 3-4 unidentified terrorists around 7.30 pm. They were rushed to the district hospital in Pulwama where Charanjeet succumbed to his injuries during the treatment while Sanjeev's condition is stated to be critical.
This is the second killing of the day and third such incident in as many days in the Valley. Earlier in the day, a migrant labourer from Chhattisgarh was shot dead by terrorists in Pulwama district of south Kashmir. Sethi Kumar Sagar, a resident of Besoli area of Chhattisgarh, was a brick kiln worker. He was walking with another civilian when two terrorists shot at him near Kakpora railway station, Director General of Police Dilbagh Singh said.
On Monday, two terrorists, including a suspected Pakistani national, had shot dead a truck driver from Rajasthan at Shirmal village of Shopian district in south Kashmir. The police said that Sharief Khan killed in desperation as fruit transportation was picking up in the valley and Khan was reportedly driving a truckload of fruits.

Meanwhile, normal life continued to be affected in Kashmir for the 73rd consecutive day on Wednesday since the abrogation of Article 370 of the Constitution as the main market continued to be shut and most of the public transport stayed off the roads, officials said.
Private transport was seen plying unhindered in the city and elsewhere in the valley, they said. Auto-rickshaws and a few inter-district cabs were also seen plying in few areas of Kashmir but the other modes of public transport remained off the roads. The main market and other business establishments remained shut.
