New Delhi:

From sulking contractual employees, whose services were terminated to a complaint related to pending pension application of a senior citizen, Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal today met over 500 people at his ‘janta durbar’.

The janta durbar, organised at party’s Kaushambi office, began around 9.55 AM and continued till 12.15 PM, and for the first time, Kejriwal listened to the complaints of the last person in queue.

The durbar also witnessed slogan-shouting complainants, who accused the Chief Minister of forgetting prepoll promises.

“In his poll promise in Seelampur, Kejriwal had said that no one’s job would be taken away and our government would ensure the livelihood of every Delhiite,” Prem Prakash, a nursing orderly employee, said.

A group of almost 50 nursing orderly employees met Kejriwal and requested him to ensure the continuation of their jobs, contracts of which were “abruptly” terminated.

“We had a lot of hope from Kejriwal, but he took our request very casually and hence we decided to sit on the road to draw his attention,” added another employee Sushma Mishra.

A group of 40 people whose money was siphoned off by a chit fund manager also met Kejriwal.

“We met Kejriwal and requested him to direct Delhi Police to take strict action against the culprit who siphoned off Rs 40 lakh in the name of lucky draw,” Jaswant who works as a tailor and contributed Rs 500 monthly to the fund, said.

Bramhapal, a senior citizen, also requested Kejriwal to take action the officials who have not processed the application for the benefit of senior citizen pension scheme.

“Babus want money to process my paper. I am a poor man. How can I bribe them?” Bramhapal asked.
