New Delhi :

Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Tuesday launched a scathing attack on the Congress and the Telangana Rashtra Samithi (TRS) saying the parties are the two sides of the same coin as they both indulge in minority appeasement and vote bank politics. Addressing a rally in poll-bound Telangana's Nizamabad, the prime minister said, “Tell me if there is any difference between the TRS and the Congress? Both parties appease the minority, both parties believe in vote bank politics. None of them have internal democracy.”

The prime minister said that Telangana Chief Minister and TRS leader K Chandrashekar Rao was insecure about the Centre’s Ayushman Bharat Yojana and refused to connect the state with the scheme that ensured quality and affordable healthcare facilities for the poor.

"We launched the Ayushman Bharat Yojana for poor people's welfare. We rolled out the scheme to ensure quality and affordable healthcare facilities for all. But the chief minister of this state showed no interest in it. The state's chief minister feels too insecure and refused to connect the state with the scheme of Ayushman Bharat," PM Modi said.

The PM said that the TRS chief had promised that he will not come to seek votes if he failed to provide water. But after five years, people of the Telangana don’t have access to safe drinking water and KCR still came asking for votes.

“After five years of KCR government, people of Telangana do not have access to drinking water. He (chief minister K Chandrashekar Rao) said that if I am not able to provide water to every household, I will not come to seek votes. Hasn't he come to ask for votes this time?” he asked.
