Bengaluru:

The body of Indian IT professional Prabha Arun Kumar, who was stabbed to death in Australia last week, reached the city today and her last rites will be held in her native village in Puttur near Mangaluru today, family sources said.

Forty one-year-old Prabha’s body was brought here by her husband Arun Kumar and her brother Shankar Shetty at around 10 PM.

“Her body will be kept at her relative’s place at Chandra Layout from 6 to 9 AM today and later flown to Mangaluru for the last rites at her native village,” Prabha Arun Kumar’s nephew Thrijesh Jayachandra told PTI.

Prabha was brutally stabbed to death in Australia, just 300 metres from her home, while on the phone talking to her husband in this IT city.

The incident occurred on March 7 in Westmead, a suburb of Sydney, while she was in the laneway that runs through the park close to her home.

Police in Australia have said they are still searching for the killer and trying to establish a motive behind the “horrific attack”.
