Benjamin Netanyahu greets India on I-Day, PM Modi replies with a heartwarming tweet

Israel Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu on Thursday wished Prime Minister Narendra Modi and the nation on the occasion of India's 73rd Independence Day. PM Netanyahu took to Twitter and posted a video clip where he described the relationship between the two countries as one of "genuine friendship".

"To my friend Prime Minister Modi and the people of India... Namaste! Happy Independence Day! The relations between India and Israel are like never before. It's not merely cooperation in so many fields, it is genuine friendship. Happy Independence Day," Benjamin Netanyahu said in a video message.

The Israel Prime Minister's message featured clips of the two leaders greeting and embracing each other at different events over the past years. The post also carried a line in Hindi that said: "Israel wishes all Indians a happy Independence Day".

Prime Minister Narendra Modi also took to Twitter and replied with a heart-warming tweet. “My friend Bibi, as always, your wishes have touched all Indians. May India and Israel become even closer friends in the years to come. @netanyahu”, he wrote.

Russian President Vladimir Putin in a letter to Prime Minister Narendra Modi also congratulated him on the occasion of Independence Day. Stating that India enjoys a high authority in the International Arena, the letter reads, "Your country rightfully takes pride in great achievements in economic, scientific, technological, cultural and other spheres".
