A Delhi-bound Air India flight from Kolkata was diverted to Amritsar due to traffic and low holding fuel, as advised by Air Traffic Control (ATC) on Monday. Five MPs from West Bengal, including three Lok Sabha and two Rajya Sabha members, were on board. They were coming to attend Parliament.

On Saturday, following a heavy rainfall in Surat, four Surat-bound flights were diverted to the Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel International (SVPI) airport in Ahmedabad. These include three flights from Delhi and one from Jaipur, which were moving towards Surat.

Air India flight, AI-493 which departed from the Indira Gandhi International (IGI) Airport in Delhi at 5.15am was scheduled to land at Surat airport at 7.05am. However, owing to poor weather conditions in Surat, the flight was diverted to SVPI airport in Ahmedabad and sources confirmed that it landed around 7.41am.

Two more Surat-bound flights operated by low-cost carrier, SpiceJet, from Delhi and Jaipur were also diverted to the Ahmedabad airport, confirmed airline sources.
