Fate of candidates for 288 assembly seats in Maharashtra and 90 assembly seats in Haryana will be sealed today. Elaborate security arrangements and election machinery has been put in place to conduct free and fair poll. With 11 Assembly seats going to polls in Uttar Pradesh on October 21, the byelections will set the stage for what could be the last big electoral battle and is being touted as semi-final ahead of the Assembly elections of 2022. In a major retaliation to Pakistan's unprovoked firing, the Indian Army on Sunday launched heavy artillery attacks targeting at least three terror camps and several Pakistani military positions opposite the Tangadhar sector along the Line of Control in Jammu and Kashmir.

Hubali (Huballi): 2 Injured In Minor Explosion At Railway Station In Karnataka

 Two people suffered minor injuries after an explosion at at platform No.1 at the Hubli (Huballi) railway station in Karnataka. The injured have been admitted to a hospital nearby. The cause of the explosion has been not been established. Police reached at spot soon. As per preliminary information, one person was carrying a box that exploded suddenly. However, another report suggested that blast may have occurred from a black colour bag left by someone. Another report citing police said that three persons have been injured with one losing his hand after the blast. It is said that the injured tried to open an unattended box when the blast went off.

Baby Dies, 4 Injured After Fire Breaks Out At Children Hospital In Hyderabad

A three-month-old baby died and four other infants were injured after a fire broke out at a private children's hospital in Hyderabad’s LB Nagar area in early morning hours on Monday. According to PTI, the incident happened in the neonatal intensive care unit (NICU) of the hospital at 2.55 am, LB Nagar Police Station Inspector V Ashok Reddy was quoted as saying. The injured babies were shifted by parents and police to different hospitals. Initial reports say that a short circuit caused the fire. As many as 42 children were undergoing treatment at the hospital at the time of the accident and the five babies were admitted in the NICU, the Inspector said. A case under IPC section 304A (causing death by negligence) has been registered in connection with the incident and a probe is on. 

3 Killed, 14 Injured As Bus Hits Truck In Maharashtra

Three people were killed and nearly 14 others injured when a bus hit a stationary truck on the Mumbai-Pune highway here in Maharashtra on Monday early morning, a police official said. The mishap took place in Kamshet area around 4 am when the private bus, carrying around 35 passengers, was on way to Kolhapur from Mumbai, he said.
