The Indian Navy on Saturday will induct its indigenously built second Kalvari class diesel-electric submarine.Defence Minister Rajnath Singh will commission the submarine which will be known as INS Khanderi."Khanderi is built at state-run Mazgaon Dock Limited and underwent rigorous sea trials for over two and a half years. Amid delay in seat-sharing pact with the BJP, Shiv Sena president Uddhav Thackeray has convened a key meeting on Saturday to discuss the party's preparations for the October 21 assembly polls in Maharashtra.Prominent Sena leaders, office-bearers and ticket aspirants will attend the meeting.

Jammu and Kashmir: One terrorist killed in Ganderbal in security forces' joint operation

An unidentified militant was killed in an encounter with security forces in Ganderbal district of Jammu and Kashmir on Saturday, the Army said. An encounter broke out between militants and security forces in the Trumkhal area, in the upper reaches of Ganderbal this morning, an Army official said.

Jammu And Kashmir: Restrictions Lifted In All Districts For First Time Since Article 370 Abrogation

Restrictions have been eased in all 22 districts in Jammu and Kashmir for the first time since abrogation of provisions of Article 370 on August 5. The government eased day-time restrictions in police station jurisdictions on Saturday morning thus ending any form of curfew from all districts in Jammu and Kashmir. 


MK Dwivedi, Secretary of Information & Public Relations in Jammu and Kashmir administration, tweeted, "Day time restrictions relaxed from all 105 police station jurisdictions in #Kashmir. So now no restrictions in all 22 districts of #JammuAndKashmir"

'Deeply Grieved': India Condoles Death Of Indo-American Sikh Police Officer In Texas

An Indian-American Sikh police officer died after being shot multiple times from behind in a "ruthless, cold-blooded way" during a traffic stop in the US state of Texas, a senior official said on Saturday. Sandeep Singh Dhaliwal, Sikh Harris County Sheriff's deputy, was shot while conducting a traffic stop, Sheriff Ed Gonzalez said. He was in his early 40s.

Imran Khan's Nuclear Devastation Threat 'Brinksmanship Not Statesmanship': India

After Imran Khan warned of nuclear devastation in event of an Indo-Pak conflict, India said that Khan's threat of qualified as "brinksmanship, not statesmanship". Vidisha Maitra, said that Pakistan's "virulent reaction" over the abrogation of Article 370 in Jammu and Kashmir depicts that "those who thrive on conflict never welcome the ray of peace".

US special representative on Ukraine Kurt Volker resigned after Congress ordered him to speak in an impeachment investigation on President Donald Trump, news agency PTI quoted a source as saying. A person familiar with the matter who requested anonymity confirmed Volker's resignation Friday, which was first reported by the student newspaper at Arizona State University, where he directs an institute.

INX Media Case: Visitors Log To Office Destroyed, Claims CBI

CBI on Friday while rejecting the claims of P Chidambaram that he never met Indrani Mukherjea, a key witness in the INX media case said, the probe has revealed that the visitors register at the office of the then finance minister was destroyed due to lapse of time when the FIR was registered. Chidambaram was arrested on August 21 after high-voltage drama captured by news media. The former Finance Minister is accused of okaying FIPB clearance for INX Media in lieu of alleged kickbacks, which were directed to shell companies owned by his son Karti Chidambaram. Read more...

Encounter Breaks Out Between Security Forces, Terrorists In Jammu And Kashmir's Doda






An encounter broke out between security forces and terrorists in Jammu and Kashmir's Doda district on Saturday morning. The gunfight ensued after terrorists hurled grenade on the forces patrolling in the region. However, no injury or loss of life has been reported on either side till the time. The exchange of fire was underway between the sides when the last report came in.
