Prime Minister Narendra Modi and Nepal's Prime Minister K.P.Sharma Oli will jointly inaugurate Motihari-Amlekhgunj cross border petroleum products pipeline through video conference today. This is the first transnational petroleum pipeline from India and first South Asian oil pipeline corridor. Amid infighting in the Madhya Pradesh Congress and jostling for the state unit chief's post, senior leader Jyotiraditya Scindia is scheduled to meet party president Sonia Gandhi on Tuesday in New Delhi.

The development comes at a time when there are indications in political circles here that Scindia (47) is eyeing the post of Madhya Pradesh Congress Committee (MPCC) president, a position currently held by Chief Minister Kamal Nath who wants his man for the top organisational job.

UNHRC Meet: India Ready With Rebuttal As Pakistan May Present Dossier On Kashmir

Tabrez Killing: Murder Charges Against 11 Dropped

Jharkhand Police have dropped the murder charges against 11 accused the lynching of a 22-year-old Muslim man Tabrez Ansari in Jharkhand. Police concluded that Ansari died of “cardiac arrest” and it was “not a case of pre-meditated murder.” Earlier, Police had registered the murder charge in the FIR on a complaint by Ansari’s wife.

Mohammed Shami: Relief For Pacer As Court Stays Arrest Warrant

Indian pacer Mohammed Shami got relief in the domestic violence case filed by his estranged wife Hasin Jahan as a district court stayed an arrest warrant against him. 


District and Sessions Judge Rai Chattopadhyay stayed the warrant issued against Shami by the Additional Chief Judicial Magistrate (ACJM) on September 2. Shami had challenged the ACJM order in the District and Sessions Court. Shami's counsel Sheikh Salim Rahaman said that it was pleaded before Judge Chattopadhyay that after filing of chargesheet in a case, the magistrate has to issue summons against the accused. 

India-Pakistan Tensions 'Less Heated' Now, Says Donald Trump

The relationship between India and Pakistan is “less heated” now than what was two weeks ago, United States President Donald Trump has said, reiterating his offer to help the two South-Asian neighbours only if both of them want. “India and Pakistan are having a conflict over Kashmir as you know. I think (it) is a little bit less heated right now than (what) was two weeks ago,” Trump told reporters at the White House on Monday.
