New Delhi:

In the view of the ongoing tensions with Pakistan, the top army commanders have decided that the armed forces cannot lower their guard, and troop readiness levels will remain as they are at the moment along the border, news agency ANI quoted sources as saying. The decision was taken in Army commanders’ conference in New Delhi on Wednesday where army discussed the ongoing operations along the Pakistan border, the news agency added.
Tensions between India and Pakistan flared up after the Pulwama attack. The Pakistan Army has violated the ceasefire for more than 70 times in the last one month along the LoC in Poonch, Rajouri and Baramulla districts of Jammu and Kashmir.

The ceasefire violation by Pakistan witnessed a spurt after India's air strike at Jaish-e-Mohammad (JeM) terror camp in Balakot in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa province on February 26 in a "preemptive" action following the terrorist group's February 14 suicide bombing in Pulwama in which 42 CRPF personnel were killed.
