New Delhi :

The wife of murdered Uttar Pradesh police inspector Subodh Kumar Singh, Rajni Rathore, has threatened to commit suicide if people responsible for his husband’s killing were not punished. The grieving wife the cop alleged a pre-planned conspiracy and demanded a CBI probe into the case and action against the policemen who left her husband alone when he was attacked by cow vigilantes.

"My husband was a brave man. He used to lead from the front. But he was so shamefully ditched by his colleagues in the police force while he was tackling those protesting against cow slaughter at a village in Bulandshahr district on Monday. His mobile phone and pistol were nowhere to be found. He went down discharging his duty," Rajini said while gazing at her husband’s body covered in a cotton cloth.

Subodh Kumar Singh, the SHO of Shyana police station in western Uttar Pradesh’s Bulandhshahr district, was fatally shot at a point-blank range above his left eye by a mob protesting against the alleged cow slaughter in the area. His wife Rajini accompanied his mortal remains to his ancestral village Taregawan in Etah district of Uttar Pradesh.

“My husband was killed in a planned manner as part of a conspiracy. If the guilty go unpunished, I will commit suicide by shooting myself. I want a CBI probe to reveal the actual facts and reasons behind my husband’s death," Rajini said.

She also demanded action against the policemen accompanying his husband during the incident but fled the scene when protesters attacked. On Saturday, Subodh Kumar Singh had received reports of stone pelting in the area. When he reached the spot, a stone hit him on his head and he fell unconscious.

Later, when the policemen accompanying him were taking him to the hospital, their jeep came under the attack. The policemen fled the scene, leaving behind Subodh alone, who was fatally shot at a point-blank range above his left eye. He died on the spot.
