Congress leader Shakeel Ahmed on Sunday termed as "eye-opener" the CAG report which stated that every third child in Gujarat is underweight.
"Gujarat is projected by BJP as model state for development. Now, the real facts have come out through the CAG report," Ahmed, Congress General Secretary and incharge of Haryana affairs, said while addressing a meeting of the party workers here.
He said there was no comparison between Haryana and Gujarat in terms of development, claiming that the Congress-ruled state was ahead on several fronts.
The Comptroller and Auditor General of India had in its report tabled in the Assembly on October 3, lambasted the working of the Integrated Child Development Scheme in Gujarat, which is aimed at fighting malnutrition among children, saying every third child in the state is underweight.
The Gujarat government had countered the report claiming that this figure had declined to less than 26 per cent this year due to various steps taken by the state dispensation.
Meanwhile, Ahmed dismissed the opposition charge that Haryana Congress was a divided camp.
Haryana Chief Minister Bhupinder Singh Hooda seconded him, saying the party unit was fully united.
He said Congress has decided to hold a big rally on November 10 in Gohana.
"This time, we will win ten out of ten Lok Sabha seats in Haryana," Hooda said.
