New Delhi:

Two days after Hiramani Tiwari was thrashed and his head tonsured by alleged Shiv Sena supporters for posting a derogatory comment about Maharashtra chief minister Uddhav Thackeray on Facebook, a case was registered in Mumbai’s Wadala TT police station.

According to a report of the news agency ANI, a case was registered against 5 people in connection with an assault of Hiramani Tiwari by alleged Shiv Sena workers.

On Tuesday, senior Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) functionaries-led by former MP Kirit Somaiya threatened to launch agitations across the city if the people involved in the dastardly attack were not arrested.

Meanwhile, Shiv Sena MLA Aaditya Thackeray onTuesday asked party workers to exercise restrain in dealing with trolls. "Calm, composed, aggressive about delivering promises and serving the people. Let's win people. Trolls lose anyway," said the Worli MLA who is the chief minister's son.

He further said the Shiv Sena should focus on silencing the chaos, divisions, fear, hate by drawing a "longer line" that works for the people and keeps them united. "Our answer is to create jobs and revive the economy," Aaditya Thackeray pointed out.

"Law and order is a subject of police and shouldn't be taken by anyone into his/her hands. Answering trolls who are nasty, threatening and abusive should not be our job," Aaditya Thackeray concluded.

Hiramani Tiwari, who operates his Facebook account by the name of Rahul Tiwari, posted a derogatory comment about Uddhav Thackeray centering on the December 15 police action on Jamia Millia Islamia students. In the post, which was uploaded on December 19, CM Uddhav Thackeray was criticised for comparing the police action on Jamia Millia Islamia students protesting against the Citizenship Amendment Act (CAA) with the Jallianwala Bagh massacre. It is worth mentioning here that on December 17, Thackeray had said, "The way police opened fire on students by forcefully entering (JMI) compound, it appeared like the Jallianwala Bagh massacre."
