Ninong Ering, Congress MLA from Arunachal Pradesh, on Tuesday requested External Affairs Minister S Jaishankar to take up a case against China in the International Court of Justice for spreading the novel coronavirus (COVID-19) in India. He also requested S Jaishankar to ask China for compensation of 22 Billion USD.

In a tweet, Ninong Ering said, "Wrote to Hon'ble EAM @DrSJaishankar Ji and requested to take up a case against #China in international forums for #WuhanCoronavirus. Earlier China has created troubles for #Arunachalees in Holy river #Siang by ill-intended projects and also stapled visas issue." Importantly, the letter has been attached with the tweet.

"Govt of India must put up a case in the international forums like ICJ against China for bio-war and ask for compensation to the tune of 22 Billion USD," Wrote Ninong Ering in the letter sent to S Jaishankar. The letter further reads, "India must unite with other nations on this and also demand an international investigation on China over coronavirus outbreak."

On Monday, Ninong Ering Wrote a letter to Prime Minister Narendra Modi and sought special assistance for Arunachal Pradesh to fight against coronavirus pandemic. "The Union Govt shall immediately arrange for basic equipment and healthcare facilities in all the districts of the state," he had said in his letter.

In the meantime, in India, the death count has reached 38 due to the outbreak of novel coronavirus in the country. According to the latest update, the coronavirus cases have crossed 1,300-mark in India. Maharashtra is one of the worst affected states in the pandemic with the positive cases in the state standing at 225 till today morning.

It is worth mentioning here that the novel coronavirus, which originated in China, has claimed over 35,000 lives across the world. With no known cure so far for the coronavirus, the deadly disease has become a major issue for the entire world.
