These petitions have been filed in Supreme Court by Congress leader Jairam Ramesh, the Indian Union Muslim League, and others.

The Supreme Court will on Wednesday hear around 60 petitions challenging the Citizenship Amendment Act. These petitions have been filed by Asom Gana Parishad, an ally of the ruling BJP in Assam, Congress leader Jairam Ramesh, the Indian Union Muslim League, and others. The petition will be heard by a three-judge bench headed by CJI SA Bobde. The other judges in the bench are Justices BR Gavai and Surya Kant. Protests are being held at several places against the amended Citizenship Act.

Delhi Police held a flag march in Mustafabad and Ghonda areas today. Joint CP Alok Kumar says, "We want to give a message that strict action will be taken against those who try to disrupt law and order in the area. Sec 144 has been imposed. Situation is completely under control and peaceful".
